President Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize…now Republicans are really pissed.

As the anti-Obama smearing campaign on the part of the Republicans has expanded to include insults and lies, the Republicans have been throwing everything they can against the wall to see if any of it will stick. Needless to say that this development will throw a cold shower in the bodies of these horny mother fuckers; this is something they can’t ignore and for sure they are now going to go after President Obama with even more viciousness than before.

But people across the world are celebrating this development. Obama represents just the opposite of his predecessor who managed to isolate and dishonor America. His arrogance was such that after the attacks on 9/11 most of the civilized world was on the side of the United States. Bush and his cronies managed to turn all of that empathy into solid hatred and repudiation.

President Obama has done the impossible in just a few short months, he has completely turned around all that animosity and he has converted it into hope.

This in itself is very advantageous for our country and the world because it facilitates diplomatic talks from people who were once hostile to the U.S.

“President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples," the Norwegian Nobel Committee said, citing his outreach to the Muslim world and attempts to curb nuclear proliferation.

The stunning choice made Obama the third sitting U.S. president to win the Nobel Peace Prize and shocked Nobel observers because Obama took office less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline. Obama's name had been mentioned in speculation before the award but many Nobel watchers believed it was too early to award the president.”

"Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future," the committee said. "His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population."

Obama joins the likes of Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Jimmy Carter and latetly Al Gore as recipients of this prestigious award. The committee said it attached special importance to Obama's vision of, and work for, a world without nuclear weapons.

Boy, the Republicans must be really pissed now.

Stop Male Infant Circumcision in the US

LAST WEEK, UNCUT NEWS resported that 12 years ago, the US passed a law banning female genital mutilation, also known as female circumcision. To mark the anniversary, protesters marched in Washington DC last week, to protest that male circumcision is still legal.

These activists call themselves “intactivists”, and are pushing for an end to public funding for circumcision. So far, 16 states, including Washington State, have banned Medicaid funding for the purposes of circumcision. According to the International Coalition for Genital Integrity, state governments can save $1 million a year by cutting public funding for circumcision.

The American Academy of Pediatrics is said to be revisiting their policy on infant circumcision. The 1999 policy puts it that there are some possible medical plusses to circumcising, but that they don’t outweigh the known risks and drawbacks, or warrant routine circumcision. Nonetheless, they sum up that parents should weigh cultural factors when deciding about circumcising their sons. This part blows my mind since it’s not even a medical opinion.

From the Human Rights Campaign

President Barack Obama, who will be speaking tomorrow night at the HRC’s national dinner, nominated David Huebner as the United States ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa on Wednesday. A founder of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, Huebner would be the third openly gay U.S. ambassador in history if confirmed by the Senate and the first by the Obama administration.

Concern abounds in California that the proposed Harvey Milk Day, in honor of Harvey Milk, an openly gay San Francisco supervisor, will again be vetoed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. When he vetoed a similar proposal in 2008, the governor said that he did not believe Milk was well known outside of the Bay area.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York said on The Rachel Maddow Show Wednesday that she believes the Senate Armed Services Committee will hold a hearing on the discriminatory Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy as early as this month. Sen. Gillibrand responded to Maddow’s questions of Republican opposition by saying, “I think there’s more support than you think.”

In an attempt to combat LGBT teen homelessness in New York City, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Mayor Michael Bloomberg released a new initiative on Monday. The program will give homeless youth limited housing, emotional support and family reuniting services. Quinn also highlighted the efforts to expand the anti-bullying ‘Respect For All’ program started in 2007.

The three candidates in New Jersey’s extremely close gubernatorial race answered questions about several issues on the horizon, including whether or not same sex couples should be allowed to marry in the state. Chris Daggett stated his preference limiting the law to civil unions, Chris Christie said he would sign a marriage equality bill if it came to his desk, and Incumbent Gov. Jon Corzine wholeheartedly supported the idea of same sex marriage.

MESSAGE TO REPUBLICANS

So, you think of yourselves as patriotic? You love your country so much that you actually want your President to fail?

You want him to fail so bad that you are willing to encourage the continuation of a senseless war in order to have many of our young men and women killed so that our President looks bad?

You are willing to do nothing about the economy, saying that it is too expensive and it is leaving a big debt to our children, yet you, your President and your party are responsible for getting us into that mess.

You are against any kind, I mean any kind of Health Care legislation because you deem it “socialistic”, and yet, you don’t own any stock in the Insurance or Pharmaceutical companies, you have absolutely nothing to gain from maintaining the status quo which, by the way, it completely broken.

You actually applauded when the Olympics didn’t go to Chicago. Dah..what the fuck are you thinking?

You complain that Preident Obama is too preoccupied with indoctrinating our children, yet you take your kids out of school, teach them at home or worse yet, send them to some private religious school so they can indoctrinate them.

You want to deny your brothers and sisters the same rights you now enjoy, and you even go further than that, you are actively seeking to have a Federal Law that allows you to discriminate openly against LGBT people.

Where do you get off? How much pain are you going to inflict on your country? How much more vitriolic venom are you going to listen from the right wing entertainers? What makes you such a patriot?

Do you really think that by flying the American flag in front of your house, wearing a lapel pin and adhering dumb or even insulting bumper stickers on your car, all of these make you patriotic?
