I have to write about this because I find it so incongruous and at the same time puzzling. I know of this fellow, very nice person and highly educated. He holds a college degree; (I won’t say from where because I want to keep him anonymous) and he is actually a living, breathing, talking point vomiting, card carrying Republican.
To me, it seems that it should be a double whammy for him to be in that
category. Why? I think that because within the ranks of the Republican Party you will find most HOMOPHOBES and RACISTS. I can’t figure out for the life of me how anyone would cast their ballot in the same box if they are representing everything against him that he actually is. Is he in need to get this type of humiliation? Does he even realize that even if he finds some of the Republican ideology or talking points valid that these ultra-right wing conservatives stand against everything he is?
Somebody go and slap him in the face to wake him up….maybe he might need some water boarding.

Ah, yes, Larry Craig…remember him?
I GET LE MIEUX’S E-MAILS
I have to tell you this, I am on Senator Le Mieux’s e-mail list because I not only read and hear from progressive liberals, I also like to see what garbage these Republicans are spreading. I find this one in particular, very disturbing because the Senator is not only being disengeneous, he is trying to mislead his constituents, at least those who receive his e-mails into believing that Health Care will cost more in raised taxes and in cuts in Medicare when nothing could be further from the truth.
When Governor Charlie Crist appointed Le Mieux to replace the Republican Senator who called it quits, I knew he was going to appoint someone conservative. I had no expectations, but I was not prepared for the likes of Le Mieux, who is a downright liar.
This is part of what he writes in his e-mail:
“Health Care Update: Approved House Bill NOT What the Doctor Ordered.
As I have said on numerous occasions I support creating more access to affordable health care but the House bill that passed last Saturday is not a solution. The bill creates a new set of problems and unfortunately, we will all pay the price.
The Senate majority is currently crafting a similar bill behind closed doors that will cut Medicare, raise taxes, increase insurance premiums and create a trillion-dollar new federal program.
This so-called reform will hurt Florida because it cuts Medicare benefits for nearly a million Floridians and raises taxes. We should reform the programs we already have instead of creating new programs that will cost taxpayers more money and bring little benefit. We should start over, have a full and open debate, and take this step by step.”
I disagree emphatically with his views. He does not represent the true wishes of his constituents. He is following a flawed and perverse ideology. Reagan was a fraud and trickle down economics is a failure. You can't govern with the assumed premise that government is the problem. Health Care is broken and the cuts to Medicare are going to come from so much waste and subsidies to insurance companies, which is why he is probably opposing it.
I am a senior and I curse the Republicans and what he stands for every day when I wake up. I have been hurt in so many ways by Republican policies and ideologies that I think they should be ashamed of themselves for having caused so much pain and chaos.
Stop trying to blame Democrats for the mess we are in, for once, have some decency and take ownership of the crisis you left. Opposing and obstructing our President is in no way shape or form patriotic. If you want Obama to fail, you want our country to fail and there is nothing patriotic about that; neither is the decimation of the middle class. America has already undergone a redistribution of wealth---from the poor and the middle class to benefit the rich and the corporations. This is a de facto SOCIALISM, only it is a welfare system for the rich and corporations. Think about all that and perhaps, if you still have some conscience and ethics you might moderate your views.
The Republicans have opposed virtually every proposal Democrats have put forward to prevent another financial meltdown. They have fought bitterly against the establishment of a consumer financial protection agency; they have blocked efforts to restrict executive compensation; they are against regulation of derivatives, and they have opposed efforts to restrain predatory lending.
But their opposition to any serious financial regulation has some substantial benefits to Republicans in the form of campaign contributions from institutions which want to be able to continue their financial manipulations unimpeded. And people like you and me, who have either lost their life savings due to the systematic elimination of regulations or have seen the value of our homes decline, could not possibly believe this new initiative from Republicans.

Now, I am not one of those obsessed with the correctness of language but I pride myself in the fact that I do read and write the English language adequately. English is a second language for me and once in a while I may have a typographical error, but seldom do I have spelling errors as it is evident when I turn on the SPELLCHECK and it comes out clean. But this is a disgrace, totally embarrassing.
We all had our share of misspelled words in the signs of the “Teabaggers” this last summer. What is it with some of our citizens? Why can’t they learn their own language? And then their favorite put down to one of us foreigners is “speak English, you are in America”; when they can’t speak it correctly.

Hit the nail on the head, Raul
