Who is going to hell – Gays or Evangelicals?
I’m posing this question because it has implicit consequences. If you are gay, whether you think it is a curse or a blessing, you can’t help being what you are. The Creator had a purpose in making you this way.
If you are an Evangelical you have choices. You can adhere to some cleric’s interpretation of the Scriptures, you can draw your own conclusion and like most Evangelicals do you just “submit” and accept the faith that is handed to you.
What these Evangelicals don’t see is that they are in fact passing judgment, which according to all who “believe” is a job reserved for God and nobody else. Are you not usurping the power of God if you pass judgment?
But that is not the worst part of this passing judgment; the injurious and harmful deeds you are doing by what you think is “the will of God” is hurting individuals by denying them their rights and you are hurting society by imposing your views when you get together with others of the same mind set and make laws that hurt some people.
I firmly believe that if hell or salvation existed Evangelicals and Fundamentalists are heading to that big frying pan in the sky a lot faster than gays.
Other observations:
Most Evangelicals are Republicans, not all Republicans are.
Most Gays are Democrats, not all are
Most Blacks are Democrats, not all are
Most Latinos are Democrats, not all are
Most racists, homophobes, xenophobes are Republicans, not all are.
When the time to vote comes again, just think of the voter base the Republicans are left with. Then it should be easy to figure out that no matter how badly this present Administration does, it will always be better than the last one and the prospects of a Republican mandate composed of Evangelicals, homophobes, xenophobes, racists, is not a very attractive alternative to American voters.
Why am I expressing optimism here? Because the Republicans who have been successful in telling lies and misleading a lot of Americans, most of which are 7th grade drop outs and people who can’t think for themselves can’t do that to all of us. They have even confused and scared a lot of the older folks. But those can’t get younger either and eventually will see that they are being lied to.
Because the gays are not going back in the closet, the blacks can’t change their skin color, the Hispanics can’t go back to their country of origin or their parents’, and progressives with a conscience are not going to compromise their principles and become Republicans.
I am going to repeat what I posted a couple of days ago: Don’t get your hopes up, no matter how frustrated we liberal leftists get with Obama and the Democrats, their inability to do real change because you obstruct it, we will NEVER, EVER, vote REPUBLICAN.

In its current incarnation, yeah, I couldn't see myself voting Republican. There have been moderate Republicans that I could see supporting but they are always beaten by the more extreme/social agenda candidates.
ReplyDeleteThat Gates of Hell picture is just cool looking enough to make me want to go there! It looks awesome! **laughing**
Not only that, but in heaven you will find the likes of Falwell, Bush, Cheney, Haggard, Craig, Robertson, Coulter, Hannity and so many other hypocrites that hell looks a hell of a lot better...if you pardon the pun
