Prophets of doom
Whenever I hear these prophets of doom, like the Jehovah’s Witnesses warning us that the end of days is near because there is an increase in catastrophes, wars and pestilence; I fly off the handle. The world has been having natural disasters and the human populations have been suffering from their effects as well as the ills of wars even before there were any written accounts of these cataclysms.
Evangelicals are too quick to point out that these calamities are but a sign that God is displeased with mankind, especially with the increase in homosexuality. Nothing could be further from the truth. If we examine history we see a decrease in the number of natural disasters like floods, earthquakes and fires. The problems with plagues have been greatly reduced due to the advances of science and the implementation of modern hygiene. So, these Evangelicals are all full of shit.
Recently, some fucking asshole Evangelical claimed that the Chicago Olympics didn’t go to Chicago because they held the Gay Games recently and because LIBERALS like Barack Obama were pushing their anti-religious agenda on the country. Yet, the games went to Rio de Janeiro, one of the most liberal cities and sexually free places on earth. Does that make sense?
With this earthquake devastating an already impoverished and destroyed country like Haiti, I want some fucking Evangelical to tell me why God unleashed such rage on these unfortunate people. Do they have a lot of promiscuity? Are they more gay than the rest of the world? What did they do to insult the Lord in order to deserve their horrible fate?
Oh, I’m sure the Evangelicals will give it some bullshit spin like: It is because these people believe in voodoo and you can’t believe in a “False God”. What about Buddha? I don’t see their countries being totally devastated because they don’t believe in a fabricated Christian God.
Pat Robertson already has made some very cruel and stomach turning statements; he said that it happened in Haiti because “its people had made a deal with the Devil”.
Not to be left behind, Rushie Bouncy Bouncy Linbaugh already said that President Obama was using this opportunity to gain points or some asinine bullshit like that. Even the right wing fanatics are now repudiating him. He should have been banned from the air a long time ago. Maybe his punishment should be to send him into a permanent exile into Haiti.
