I was right about Sarah Palin

From the day the Republican Party nominated her I said that she was not fit to be running for dog catcher of Wasilla. Now this book comes out that is equally accusatory of Democrats and Republicans and divulges a few of the “secrets” of what went on in the Presidential campaigns.

Sarah Palin as an individual lacks the integrity and the honesty. As a politician she is ruthless and unethical. As a human being she is a slacker and lacks the intellectual capacity for any elected office.

Her ignorance and being uninformed on the issues now astound us. Imagine someone a heart beat away from the Presidency not knowing there are two Koreas. Imagine someone who still thinks that Iraq was responsible for 9/11 and worse yet, imagine someone who thinks the world is 6,000 years old!

In the book ''Game Change'' by New York magazine's John Heilemann and Time Magazine's Mark Halperin. They reveal “that Sarah Palin believed Saddam Hussein to be behind the attacks on 9/11, didn't understand why North and South Korea were separate (the Korean War) and that she could not properly pronounce Joe Biden's name. The book contends that Palin was a mentally unstable person prone to wild mood swings, describing her being hopelessly lost in a "catatonic stupor" at one point during the campaign”.

I am still waiting for someone to produce a birth certificate for Sarah Palin. I want to make sure that even with her lack of qualifications at least she was a natural born American citizen and not born in Southern Alberta, at home in a rural area South of Calgary and her family moved to Northern Idaho two weeks later as it is rumored.

SARAH PALIN, SHOW US YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE!

Those “birthers” have asked so many times…here is the President’s birth certificate!

SMALLER GOVERNMENT?

Somebody please enlighten me on this. The Republicans want smaller government and they want us to be a world power, they are hell bent on getting us into wars, they want us to go and protect the interests of the very rich and the corporations, right? How do you do that with a small government, one without taxes and with little power?

How do Republicans propose that we spend less and not get into debt and carry out all these “wars against terror” they seem to favor? How are we going to not collect taxes from the very rich and the corporations when the middle class and the poor are already overburdened with taxes to pay for the very things they want to do?

Am I missing something? Does patriotism means that we have to be arrogant and defiant in a world that is already looking at America with distrust and contempt? Are we to think that if we abandon our commitment fo uphold Constitutional laws and our ideals of equality and individual freedom that we will be the number one world power again?

How do we lead other nations if our example is flawed? How do we prescribe democracy when it is but a mirage in our own land?

How do we get out of this economic mess the Republicans left us without spending any money? Are we to assume that economic chaos is preferable? Do the Republicans really think that doing nothing is going to fix all the problems? Do they believe that it was too much regulation and too many infringements into the private sector that caused the economic disaster we see ourselves in when just the opposite is true?

The Eagle flies and the Eagle shits.

A solution to political advertising that lie or distorts the truth

I think I got the solution to this whenever a PAC raises obscene amounts of money to use against a candidate or a proposed legislation. There should simply be a law that requires equal time for rebuttal. So that when wealthy donors, the very rich or otherwise misguided people raise all this money then they are also raising money to present the opposing point of view as broadcasters should be required to offer free air time to the opposition. Period, end of the debate.
