At least BP is trying to be green.
PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP
Has anyone noticed this? Gasoline is going up once again. It follows a worn out, tired tactic from the big oil companies. They begin to raise the price of gasoline 20 cents or as much as 50 cents without the public being aware of it. But make no mistake about it, they are socking it to us without VASELINE (petroleum jelly) because they will then jack up the price $1 to $2 more to bring it down again and by the time they do, the public will still be paying 20 cents or more than when they started.
It is something they have done before and it has worked. Exxon has had record profits and so do the other major oil companies. There is no reason for this increase, not one that could be explained other than plain, unadulterated greed.
I have now for a long time refrained from using gasoline from Exxon, Shell, Mobil, Texaco and some of the others. Instead I go to independents and small gasoline retailers. I have also been reducing trips in my car and try to make any outing a multiple task affair. It is not just that I can’t afford it, because I really can’t it is the principle.
