Are we in the 21st Century or antebellum America?
What is really happening here? You hear governors talking about cessation, others about the rights of the states to supersede those of the Federal Government. You even hear how the Civil Rights of the 60’s were wrong and pushed down the throats of southerners.
The truth could not be clearer; they know they lost on the issue of slavery…it wouldn’t even enter their minds to suggest we could return to that. But for one hundred years after the Civil War the Southern states were successful in maintaining and successfully obtaining a repugnant discriminatory system. They did it through intimidation, coercion, and repression.

Why is all of this surfacing at this time? Because we now have a black man in the White House and those Southerners probably remember the words of grand pappy Bubba who told them when they were kids that they better put up a fight against giving the blacks the same rights because some day they will take over the country.

It is amazing how racist we are in this country. :) All this "socialist" hoola, etc over someone who wants to create change. At the beginning, Clinton was trying the same kinds of things, as was Kennedy. But then again, they were white, so the Repubs fought against it, but didn't do the slamming thing. You know, one of their own kind doesn't deserve that. But the Obamas, of course, they must be big threats because they are socialists. Oh, and we must make sure to punish all those white people who voted for them, too.
ReplyDeleteIt's retaliation in the cruelest and most bigoted way. But they will never admit it.
Raulito, I love it. If you needed proof for your assertions(as if), you'd only have to look at the South Carolina Secession Gala that was held a few weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteOld family/WASPy southerners say "we're just honoring our family heritage and our southern history", but that translates into, "I sure wish we could go back to those great times." I'm sure you wouldn't be surprised what gets said behind closed doors.
Take it from me, my extended biologic family(who I am very estranged from) is one of those families and if I could, I'd remove my biologic ties.
