That is the dilemma that we are facing when it comes to the
free enterprise system.
At what point are we going to put a stop to all the insane
excesses of the wealthy and the corporations? What is the great advantage, what
are the benefits exacted from protecting and promoting a plutocracy?
Certainly it is not consumerism or the hunger that the 99%
has for cheaply made goods in some forsaken land sold at a Wal-Mart that albeit
being the largest employer is also the worst of them, not offering benefits and
totally treating employees as second class that are just part of the equation
to make a profit.

The
question for us Americans still remains on the table: Are we willing to give up
our freedoms, our dear democratic process, hand over our hard earned dollars to
the very wealthy and the corporations in exchange for the privilege of
purchasing cheap trinkets made to break down once you got them home?
No
doubt, I have said this before a dozen times; the free enterprise system is the
best of economic systems there is but it has to have regulations or greed will
overwhelm everything. Nothing can exemplify this better than the oil
monopolies; they are influencing politicians and buying their way into
perpetuating a deadly game of carbon-base energy consumption even when they see
they are not just destroying the environment but may very well be destroying
the planet by making it unfit for human habitation.
So, are we going to give up the cow (in this case our gas
guzzler) for the goat (a polluted environment) and is this a wise exchange?
