The free enterprise system is the best economic system there is
but it has to have regulations or greed will take over.
I have often said that GREED has no conscience; and it seems
that the primary driving force that motivates the establishment Republicans is
to elevate GREED into a lofty place as a desirable quality of the free
enterprise system.
In this intricate juxtaposition of greed and free
enterprise, anything goes the end justifies the means, do whatever you can do
to make a profit…and that includes sending jobs abroad and lying off workers in
America, closing down plants, attacking labor unions to exact a cheap labor
force and buy political influence at any cost.
This is what CONSERVATIVES will tell you is the right thing,
the only thing to preserve the capitalist system free from government
interference…after all, how dare they? How dare the government place any
regulations that constrict and discourage greed?
We
have reality hitting us in the face like a 2 X 4 and it tells us that there is
going to be a GOP
Presidential candidate that actually believes this; Mitt
believes that corporations should be more powerful and influential than the
general population…by elevating their status, redefining personhood to include
business entities that have no brains, conscience or compassion.
This is what we have to look forward to if the Republicans are
successful in selling the country a bill of goods. Oh, sure, they have made
great strides…the Koch brothers alone have achieved a great deal of success in
influencing politics and even generating an astro-turf type of movement called
the Tea Party and even captured some State Houses, Governorships and 2
Senators.
But the American people, those very people that bought into
the Teabagger crap soon found out what these GREED driven politicians did once
they got into office and the voters soon got buyer’s remorse. The majority of
Americans are disgusted with them and in some cases have even thrown them out
of office or have efforts going to recall and remove them.
The Conservative Republicans were also successful in “planting”
activist Supreme Court Justices that are loyal to the ideology and philosophy
of the Republican Party and that includes recognizing non-human corporations as
having the same rights as flesh and bones humans. That in itself is
preposterous as the Supreme Court is supposed to be this impartial and fair
jurisprudence body that will observe neutrality and will administer and
interpret the Constitution impartially and unconditionally. Lady Justice after
all is depicted as a fair lady holding a scale and blindfolded…meaning that
justice is fair and unencumbered of prejudices and extremist ideology.
