These fanatical extremists
were looked upon with disdain by the majority of us just recently.
On Monday, January 2, 2012, I had a post “THE TRADITIONAL POLITICIAN IS ON ITS WAY TO IRRELEVANCY” where I point out that politicians as we have known them will cease to exist. There is another kind of politician that is also waiting in the wings to get his/her walking papers from the American people: The ultra-right wing Evangelical conservative.
In a not too distant past these fanatical extremists were looked upon with disdain by the majority of us…sure, they have held a steady grip on about 28% of the population*(1) and that is because it is extremely difficult to break away from the chains of religious tyranny in the form of “faith based fundamentalism”. These people are so used to not thinking for themselves, to accept their preacher’s interpretation of the Scriptures and in general to embrace a rather perverse and destructive view of mankind.
They inflict injury to others different than themselves and to the nation as well. They see themselves as noble and righteous and they are so far from it that is pathetic. Certainly they are even further from what they think is Christian values and teachings, being diametrically opposed to the teachings of Christ (read Sermon on the Mount)
The Republican Party is more than happy to relinquish some if not a lot of influence and prominence to these idiots because by being controversial and proposing outlandish right wing initiatives it makes them look like moderates, which in a not too distant past was not moderate and was totally unacceptable by the rest of us.
Quote Of The Day - Kate Kendell
"In the repellent race to the bottom (no pun intended) it should
be no surprise that Santorum did so well in the Iowa caucuses. Mitt Romney is
in a major stall, and in a field of class clowns Rick Santorum stands out as
particularly cartoonish. [snip] Santorum's win is not a referendum on who he is
as a man (inhumane and ignorant), or who he is as a candidate (pandering and
mean). It is simply the gasping statement of a thankfully dying breed of
Americans -- those who fear, loathe or hate anyone different from themselves,
who mistrust or reject the idea that government can and should be a force for
good, and who detest even the slightest exposure to information or ideas that
challenge their world view." - Kate Kendell, executive director of the National Center For Lesbian
Rights, via press release.
Homohater fosser fram
Rick Santorums hjertesak er kampen mot homofile.
Translated from Norwegian:
"Byproduct of anal sex" His name alone is funnier than fuck. After the activists carried out a so-called Google-bombing, the search for "Santorum" on Google now has a somewhat special explanation of the candidate's name as one of the first hits: Santorum: "A frothy mixture of lubricant and stool, which can be a byproduct of anal sex. "
Rick Santorums homophobia helped him, perhaps in Iowa, but it has also
made him hated among gays. Early in the campaign he had to devote resources to
counter a smear campaign on the net that gave a lot of negative attention.
