No, it is not a paid political
announcement it is just a warning
The message is simple and to the point:
The 99% can’t exploit the
rest of us and get richer on the backs of the middle class and the poor.
America will never become a theocracy;
this is a secular country and not a Christian nation.
LGBT Americans will be given
full citizenship rights just like the blacks got in the 60’s.
Corporations are not people
and if they were then they should pay their taxes like the rest of us and bring
home their bank accounts from the Cayman Islands. They then should have the
right to only one vote per corporation.
If you are an adulterer you
are living in a glass house and you don’t throw stones. Don’t act like you are
appalled or indignant if somebody points out your hypocrisy.
Disenfranchising voters is
unconstitutional, we want more people to participate in the democratic process
and make it easier to vote, not more difficult.
If you are elected to political office
you are obligated to represent the people who elected you, not the special
interests that funded your campaign and provided you with a lofty lifestyle.
Global warming is a threat
and real, oil companies have to be taken out of the equation and we have to, we
must develop alternative sources of energy.
Healthcare is an American right, nobody
should have to go without it and die because the insurance companies have to
make an obscene profit. Those insurance companies are parasites since they
don’t produce anything or even offer a useful service. None should be able to
make an obscene profit out of someone’s misery.
Wall Street speculation and
shady banking practices will not be tolerated under a straight forward, ethical
free enterprise system and there will be regulations and stiff penalties if the
public trust is violated.
Social Security is a crucial safety net
that is working and is solvent for decades to come; it will never be privatized
or done away with.
If you are a politician or a
journalist and you engage in malicious slander, spread lies and dishonest
misrepresentation you will be subjected to libel prosecution. A man’s word is
his most valuable possession.
Freedom of speech and of the
press is sacred and never should peaceful protest be subjected to suppression
nor does the government, whether local, state or federal have the right to
dictate how, where and when protests will take place. Law enforcement personnel,
who use excessive force will be prosecuted, not get a slap in the hand and paid
leave.
Wars should only be fought when our
country is attacked; it is ugly and deadly and should not be treated as an
exciting sport. The military industrial complex has to be controlled where they
don’t have the capability to lead us into an unnecessary and senseless war.
Water-boarding and other
“enhanced interrogation techniques” are torture and immoral and violate the
Geneva Conventions.
Education has to improve and
teachers should earn higher salaries in order to attract the best in their
field to teach our children. They should also be allowed to belong to a labor
union as well as firefighters, police, sanitation worker and janitors.
The 28th
Amendment of the Constitution doesn’t just need to be passed, it is imperative
that we pass it.

An OK speech, but still too kind to the Republicans. He will need to get more gutsy to win in November.
ReplyDeleteThe speech set the stage for him to be very aggressive during the campaign(I hope) and put his adversaries on the defensive over the coming months.
