I
get them all the time, even if I very clearly state at the top of the blog that
I will not publish anonymous comments.
But I think
that this one runs away with the prize for the most grammatical errors and
twisted logic.
He starts out by questioning my sobriety by saying: (He,
because he signs as Richard, or some other name that’s made up) “You had too
much of the wine bud or you smoked the stash of pot too many times” Which by
the way could not be because I don’t partake of neither.
Then he goes on to ramble about the love of country,
democracy, and disparate sentences to which he claims that “not all Republicans
are racist, homophobic or avocate (misp.) violence and isurrection
(misp.)” and how we have to get government off our backs, how he works so hard
and is not on welfare, pays taxes to support those on Social Security, and so on..
The Greene
County, Virginia Republican Committee publishes a monthly newsletter for
members called “The Constitutional Conservatives.” The newsletter is heavy on
Tea Party rhetoric about how Obama and liberals are ruining America, and so
forth. But even by these standards, an item in the March
newsletter stands out.
I think that the very statement that “not all Republicans
are racists, etc.” admits by default that he realizes these people are radical
and extremists and he knows damn well they are not doing the Republican Party
any favors, they are hurting America and the democratic process.
But Richard, Paul, John, or whatever the fuck your name is,
if you are so moderate and realize that these extremists are making these
threats, accusations, questioning the President’s birth, telling these lies and calling for violence….why in the world you
don’t stand up to them?
Why don’t you man up and demand that they abandon this
kind of hurtful speech? Why don’t you ban them from the Republican Party? Why
the majority of Republicans can’t repudiate them?
I suppose that would be totally out of character since you
don’t have enough cojones to sign your name to a comment and have to do it
anonymously.
