BUSH WAS THE PRESIDENT ON VACATION FREQUENTLY

The President on vacation in Hawaii with his daughters
Exactly how many days vacation did he have while in office? How much did all that cost us the taxpayers?

I wasn’t going to continue on this issue but since I received a couple of comments both coming from cowards hiding behind “anonymous” (possibly GOP operatives) criticizing Mrs. Obama for her spending so much money.
Here are facts for you assholes: George W. Bush spent 879 days at his Crawford Ranch, during 2 terms as President, Bush spent all or of part of 487 days at Camp David, on retreats and made 77 trips to his Crawford Ranch, in Texas, where he spent all or part of 490 days, on his Ranch.
The total number of days of vacation or retreat President Bush took, while in office over a period of 8 years was 977 days, or 32% of his total time in office, was spent on vacations or retreats.
Now, I am not one to begrudge our President some R&R if that recreation and rest results in him performing better…but Bush was arguably the worst President we ever had…so we didn’t get our dollar’s worth.

How much did Bush’s vacations cost us the taxpayer?
Those who criticize the cost of Obama’s Christmas vacation don’t want you to know that George W. Bush spent at least $20 million taxpayer dollars just on flights to his ranch in Crawford.
The right wing has been outraged at the four million dollar plus price tag for Obama’s family Christmas vacation, and they constantly hold George W. Bush up as an example of how thrifty a president should be when going on vacation.
George W. Bush was on vacation more — 1,020 days — than any U.S. President since Herbert Hoover and possibly more than any other President in history.
Even President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who was in office 12 years from 1933 to 1945, was on vacation fewer days than President Bush at 958 days.  Calls to several Presidential Libraries reveal that no President can come close to Bush’s 1,020 days on vacation in an 8 year period.  Even Lyndon Johnson, who spent 484 days at his ranch in Texas and at Camp David during his presidency, came in under Bush’s vacation time.  Some claim the cost of Bush’s frequent trips to Crawford, Texas cost taxpayers upwards of $20 million, but the numbers are hard to confirm.
Let’s take a little trip down memory lane. As of August of 2011, President Obama had taken 61 days of vacation, a number that paled in comparison, at the same point in their presidencies, with George W. Bush’s 180 days at his ranch, and Ronald Reagan’s 112 days at his. The Daily Kos estimated George W. Bush’s Crawford ranch trips to cost taxpayers about $226,000 a trip in flight costs alone . . . so do the math. At the very, very least, the price tag for Bush’s vacations to Crawford cost us $17,407,544 - and that’s before factoring in the costs of security detail, press corps, staff and the like.
So, Mr. Anonymous asshole, before you keep writing your moronic comments check your facts…that is my advice and grow some balls while you are at it, will you?, stop hiding behind anonymity.
