All the while, the right-wing conservatives who are now making China the Boogie Man, were the very people responsible for outsourcing jobs to China.

Yesterday I received an e-mail from a dear friend informing that a lot of the things made in China are not necessarily cheaper....nor are they the best quality, I may add.

In the e-mail, they explain how some things made in America can be bought at a lower price and thus protecting American jobs.

But one thing that struck me funny was an example the e-mail gave: someone buying an item at Wal-Mart which ended up being more expensive, etc. The premise here is why shop at Wal-Mart at all when they are the largest employer in America and at the same time the worst?

Has anybody told this person sending the e-mail that Wal-Mart pays starvation wages and their employees are forced to go on Food Stamps...thereby shifting the burden of paying for that welfare on to the taxpayers...which in itself is a SUBSIDY to Wal-Mart?

Then there was mention of some products that are made in America and are cheaper...but the most serious problem this e-mail ignored is that of all the products manufactured and sold by Koch Industries. Why is this so bad?

Let's be blunt here, these two brothers public enemies number one and two, they are traitors, they want to destroy America as we know it and love. Instead they want to install a FASCIST-PLUTOCRATIC-THEOCRACY. I don't think that people have given this too much thought when they seem to ignore the large amounts of money these two have spent on political contributions in the last 30 years.

The Kock brothers are the largest destroyers of “THE AMERICAN DREAM” They want to do away with Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Public Education, the EPA, OSHA, as well as dismantling the Federal Government to the point that it will cease to exist. (In my book that is called ANARCHY a la Somalia)

Because these two brothers, tycoons and billionaires are carrying on the legacy of their father who was a member of the John Birch Society. American Fred Koch, and through association the Kochs from Germany, establish the John Birch Society in the 1950s in NY, which becomes the policy center for American conservatives. The society was built on Fred Koch’s oil money in the 1950s and can be thought of as the center of neo-conservative politics as well as the Tea Party movement.

They have for over three decades conducted well-funded assaults on progressives. Their targets are easy to guess: Democrats, unions, public school teachers, trial lawyers, environmentalists, the judiciary and academia. Like some deranged game of Risk, the brothers strategically deploy their riches to destroy, marginalize, subvert or infiltrate each of these constituent groups, with the result being that poorly funded progressives are overrun as easily as Poland.

The e-mail also fails to mention that the largest of all corporations, GE pays hardly any read this correctly, none, zilch, nada, no taxes.

Some very wealthy individuals as well as companies that are very prosperous even receive SUBSIDIES that you and I pay for in the form of taxes.

At the root of the problem is the intense efforts by Republicans, starting with Reagan to encourage companies to close their doors and manufacturing in America and outsource to overseas areas where labor is cheaper.

While at the same time, Republicans and some Democrats also entered into some pretty lob-sided TRADE AGREEMENTS that benefit other countries and hurt America and the American worker.

Why not also boycott Koch Industries? If not, then we're all

  1. I agree that the Koch Brothers, their wealth, their politics, their influence are dangerous and destructive. But even a well orchestrated boycott with the cooperation of those who feel the same about them, would probably have little impact. Their tentacles are like the mycelium of a fungus - extensive, underground, hidden from view, and all consuming. Outrage, I get; effective response, I'm at a loss. What fungicide will be effective?
